Di Lewis Studios combines an Australian artistic vision with striking color palettes to deliver distinctive home décor for the modern lifestyle. Founded over four decades ago in the tranquility of Melbourne Australia by Di Lewis, the studio was initially inspired by colorful free-flowing designs from Scandinavia. Di first travelled to Finland and Sweden, and assembled a curated collection of contemporary home furnishing fabrics and children’s designs, which she imported and distributed to select interior designers and retailers throughout Australia. The designs were so well received that she was inspired to create her own collections. 

Australian by birth and a world-thinker at heart, Di travelled around the globe seeking highly creative, talented designers with a flair for color to produce vibrant collections of hand painted impressionist florals, contemporary, and abstract designs to form the Di Lewis brand of home furnishings. 

In 1985 she moved from Australia to New York with her two daughters Claudia and Felicity, and set up the design studio on Fifth Avenue. It was a bold move. Designers were brought in from the United Kingdom and also sourced from top US design schools. Fabric collections were created and produced in the United States, Europe, and Asia and successfully sold all over the world. The studio also licensed a variety of manufacturers in the home furnishing industry producing bed, bath and wallpaper collections.

Today the studio archive is comprised of over two thousand pieces of highly curated, hand-painted designs birthed by international artists across all artistic mediums and the collection continues to evolve.  Online, we are now offering an extensive line of personalized pillowcases and giclée art prints, drawing from our best-selling designs from the past four decades.
